For the last 12 years, the Shooting Stars have been the most dynamic Travel Girls Softball organization in Northern Virginia.
Their fan base is the largest in the area and it’s going to be a spectacular, festive afternoon.

The Shooting Stars are the only Fastpitch organization that brings back former athletes who now play in college to take on the current Gold team. ASA will manage the contest and we are excited to have the same umpiring crew return again this year.

Last year, the Gold team jumped to a 6 - 0 lead, which they built to 8 - 1 when the College Bats came alive. Thinking they may just have taken these high school studs lightly, the D-1 really came out in our former Stars and they posted 6 runs in a hurry. It proved to be just short of what they needed as they lost to the Gold team by 1 run in 7 innings. Watch them come out, loaded with new talent from the class of 2011 and seek redemption.

Other Highlights of the afternoon include a skills clinic and a Hitting Contest beginning at 2:00. We will have prizes for the winners of each category in each age group for the hitting contest. A photographer will be on hand to take action shots of any athletes who show up in their uniform. Team and "buddy" action photos will be available as well.

All athletes who wish to attend the Skills clinic must sign up on the website. The skills clinic will be conducted by a combination of professional softball instructors, college athletes and Gold Coaches. Skill specific instruction at the highest level will be offered in the fields of hitting, fielding and pitching.

As always, fans will enjoy great on field entertainment and activities. There will be food and drinks and a complete list of all afternoon activities will be released in the near future.

The Shooting Stars are thrilled to host the Alumni Game again this year. As everyone knows, Northern Virginia loves fastpitch and our fans will be thrilled to witness the best of best compete. We also must give recognition to AGSL for sponsoring the organization and supporting the Shooting Stars.
